Having a place to live again was a dream and I felt like a king. For three years I had survived without an address, and it had been difficult. My new routine was hectic; I was holding down multiple jobs, getting up extremely early and going to bed late, all while working diligently on my art. I was exhausted all the time. Then I was accepted onto a six-month mentoring program with the legendary drum and bass producer, DJ Krust. One of the first challenges Krust set me was to write twenty new pieces in four weeks, which at the time was more than I had ever written in one go. So I dived in, head first - every day I would get back from work and write for hours, sometimes writing four pieces in a day, totally exhausted. I would often fall asleep at my desk. During this process, I had numerous breakthroughs. There were moments of experiencing a state of pure flow, where my intuition took over; it was as if the Universe was writing for me and I was just watching it happen. It was in one of these moments that I created 'A Glimpse Above the Clouds'. An elated feeling passed through my body, as if all the stress had suddenly lifted, and everything was in total alignment. This was my salvation – being completely in flow and creating something beautiful in the moment. My songs are like doorways to other places, as though I am travelling through time and space when I create them.

“Everyone at a high level has a huge amount of chess understanding, and much of what separates the great from the very good is deep presence, relaxation of the conscious mind, which allows the unconscious to flow unhindered.” ― Josh Waitzkin, The Art of Learning: A Journey in the Pursuit of Excellence
